The first weekend in May at historic 51 West of downtown Frankfort kicked off Friday night with the Spring Formal for Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from Terre Haute, Indiana. This was a special time for the fraternity, it was their first formal event since Covid restrictions were put in place in 2020. This was an opportunity to honor outgoing senior members and give a warm welcome to the fraternity's newest brothers.
Approximately 70 Pi Kappa Alpha brothers and their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner of pork ribeyes with bacon jam and balsamic glazed chicken from Angry Donkey in Michigantown. The sides, provided by 51 West, included our spring mix salad of fresh strawberries, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, bacon, a healthy helping of cheese and topped off with a choice of our freshly made house vinaigrette or ranch dressing. Warms yeast rolls and a variety of delectable vegetables, including our highly requested orange glazed carrots, rounded the dinner. Afterward, the meal was finished with slices of our house-made, mouthwatering red velvet cake covered with cream cheese icing.
The tables were decorated with Pi Kappa Alpha's official colors, garnet and gold. 51 West created centerpiece succulents embellished with the fraternity's official greek letters surrounded by mercury glass votives and red and gold crystals. The table was completed with napkins folded into roses in honor Rose-Hulman.
We want to thank the members of Pi Kappa Alpha for selecting us to host their spring Formal.
